Meet Mrs. Fletcher
I am so excited to see all of my new and returning students this Fall! Born and raised in Western New York, I attended SUNY Fredonia and received my Bachelor's degree in Music Education. I made my way to Western Michigan in 2004 when I attended WMU and received my Master's Degree in Vocal Jazz Performance. I taught elementary general music to Kindergarten- 5th grade students in Dowagiac from 2006- 2015. In 2015, I joined the Mattawan School family, where I teach music to Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders here at the Early Elementary.
Mr. Fletcher and I have been married for 17 years. We have three beautiful children that are all students here in Mattawan! I am a vegetarian who loves to read, exercise, be outside, and take pictures. My family and I attend church at New Life Church here in Mattawan.

My goal is to help facilitate your child's creativity! The curriculum revolves around the Common Core Standards for music, that can be found here. Your children will become tuneful, artful, and beatful musicians. We will practice keeping a steady beat, singing on pitch, reading rhythms, playing instruments and appreciating music, composing and improvising, making music in groups as well as independently and MUCH MORE! I hope they learn as much from me as I know I will learn from them.
